EMPLOYMENT

VOCATIONALLY REGISTERED GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Angaston Medical Centre (AMC) looks to welcome a Vocationally Registered GP to join our progressive and dynamic doctor-owned practice in the heart of the beautiful, world-renowned Barossa wine and food region.

AMC has provided care for our community for over 80 years and is fully AGPAL accredited.  We offer General Practice and Allied Health services with 13 Doctors, a Dietitian and Travel Health Nurse Practitioner.

AMC has two practices in Angaston – Murray Street and Health On Washington.  Both practices provide Pathology collection services. Our Health on Washington site has a focus on General Practice whilst Murray street Site is a multidisciplinary health centre providing General Practice, Allied Health, and specialist services.

The established and growing patient base and mixed billing offers excellent remuneration for its medical practitioners along with flexible working arrangements.  Our doctors are well supported by a team of nursing and administration staff in a community-focused and collaborative culture, making AMC an employer of choice.

The practice has a strong and ongoing commitment to medical education. Presently we employ 4 Registrars and host 2 medical students from Flinders and Adelaide Universities. Many of our previous registrars and students have chosen to continue their career in medicine at AMC.

The doctors at AMC supply medical services to nearby Angaston Hospital which has 25 acute medical beds, a 24-hour emergency department, onsite radiology and an operating theatre. A wide variety of visiting specialists support the local community including cardiologists, a gynaecologist, ENT surgeons, general surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, a urologist, a plastic surgeon, gastroenterologists and a general physician. An applicant with anaesthetic skills would be looked upon favourably.

The Barossa region is thriving with well-established profitable industries and a growing population which is catered for with a choice of 12 schools. Barossa is widely regarded by international wine writers, judges, retailers and consumers as Australia’s most famous wine region and has a generational tradition of hospitality that lives on today in our region’s restaurants.  Experience the vibrancy and warmth of a Barossa welcome as you work in our award-winning region.
