New Intern Amy Watson

We would like to welcome Dr Amy Watson to our practice as our new intern. Amy brings with her experience in Musculoskeletal health, having been a physiotherapist prior to becoming a doctor and has recent experience in women’s health.
She has an interest in paediatrics and women’s health and is looking forward to her time here. In her spare time, Amy enjoys cooking, exercise and hiking.

Well Baby Clinics

AMC Nurse Practitioner Catherine Keil is starting a Well Baby Clinic (WBC) from October 2022. Well Baby Clinics deal with the total well-being of children and include developmental health checks and immunisations. Parents have the option to book into the WBC at their child’s 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 4-year check. GP’s are still available, if preferred, with the 6-week check still being undertaken by the Doctor. Appointments are available on Thursday mornings at our Health on Washington site. Please phone our friendly reception team to book your appointment.

Parkrun Practice

We are a parkrun practice and encourage our staff, patients and the community to get involved with the local parkrun event held every Saturday morning at 8am from the Coulthard Reserve in Nuriootpa. This is a free event, all you need to do is register via the link below. You can walk, jog, run or volunteer and is a great social event for the community.

Welcome Dr Sam Paull

We would like to introduce Dr Sam Paull to our practice as our new Intern. Sam was one of our medical students in 2020 and we are very excited to have him back with us.

Sam brings with him experience in an emergency department setting with an interest in emergency, rural and sports medicines.

Sam grew up in the Adelaide Hills and Barossa region and is happy to be back.

We would like to welcome our new Intern Dr Louisa Maney. Louisa has had rural medicine experiences in Whyalla, Port Augusta and Jamestown with an interest in obstetrics, dermatology and rural medicine. She grew up on a livestock farm in the South East and has a passion for rural life

Welcome Dr Isabella Slade

Isabella is our newest Intern to commence at Angaston Medical Centre. She has previously lived in the Barossa as a student and loved it so much she had to come back! Isabella is from a remote sheep station in the Flinders Ranges and has always loved living in regional/rural towns. She has a special interest in preventative health, mental health, rural and remote medicine and Golden Retrievers.

Medical Students 2022

Angaston Medical Centre is proud to host medical students in their second to last year of university medical training from Flinders University and The University of Adelaide. This innovative and internationally recognised program is designed around a full year of clinical placement with an integrated curriculum. We welcome Libby, Kaviya and Celine.

Interns for 2022

We will have a rotation of interns throughout the year. Internships are a transitional year from medical students to medical practitioners, it allows the interns an opportunity to build on their skills under the supervision of a GP.

Dr Julie Huynh is our first intern for 2022. Her professional interests include paediatrics, women’s and sexual health and public health. Dr Julie will be with us for 10 weeks as she completes her internship
